Become your own boss online business… can be done with success. The perks are obvious to running your own business especially online (free time for family, no commute, no boss, work around your lifestyle), but what you need to reach those perks may not be so obvious. There are several components, but today I want to discuss three: proper education/training, mindset, and positioning yourself as a leader will be crucial.
In the last year I’ve become the focused student of the internet business arena, the successful industry icons and the empowering leverage it provides those who have the entrepreneurial vision to become your own boss in online business. Much of the business training and education I received in my 15 plus years in the business world was an old model that has become outdated with the current times. Just look at the economy and this becomes apparent. I realized by adapting to a new set of rules and techniques I could leap back in front of the curve as an entrepreneur and business owner. You obviously have had similar thoughts and want to learn what is involved.
So, the points I want to bring up today include:
o Education/Training
o Mindset
o Leadership
Each of these points must be interwoven into a working platform that positions you to become your own boss online business success. You will need to learn new marketing methods and techniques, systems, tools, services and skill set. Things like Social media Web 2.0, Pay-Per-Click, article marketing, blogging, and video marketing to name the big ones. Nothing surprising as this is a new venture, right? You will need to develop a mindset that welcomes and manages change, maintains a positive outlook and attitude. With change comes frustration…its’ how you deal with it that matters. You must come from a position of leadership, confidence, certainty, passion, integrity and responsibility. No one gets to the top alone, so building a solid team won’t happen unless you lead. Now you may or may not have some of these points handled, but it takes all of them for optimal results.

Online Business – Do You Have the Computer Skills?
Every time I go to my dentist I’m glad that she took the time to learn and develop the skills she needed to become a good dentist. I feel confident in her abilities and know that any work that she may be required to do on my teeth will be done properly. When I go to the hardware store I have confidence in talking to the sales people that have been working there as long as I can remember. These people have learned about their products and are able to give me good advice. We all feel confident around people that know what they are doing!
We also know what it feels like dealing with someone who doesn’t project confidence. We have doubts about their abilities and will begin to question if they can give us the information we need or if they can do the job we need. If you are going to have an online business you must let your prospects know that you can solve their problems. They must have confidence in you or they will never do business with you.
Being in business requires certain skills that will help you be successful. Knowing how to communicate is one of the most important skills you will need. Simple things like time management, budgeting, advertising are common to most types of businesses. However, when you have a computer based business you will need certain skills related to the use of computers. Many online businesses follow the MLM business model. There is certainly nothing wrong with this business model, in fact it is an excellent method for doing business, but it does require much more than having your own replicated web site if you are going to be successful.
Too many people join an MLM company thinking that the web site provided by the company will make them rich. This doesn’t happen. You have to learn how to market your business and this requires you learning about the Internet and the different methods used by successful marketers. Do you have to learn everything or is it even possible to learn everything? The answer is no, but you do have to learn enough to know how things work. This will take time but it is necessary if you want to develop a successful online business.
Where can you learn the computer skills you will need? You have to look no further than the Internet itself. There are numerous sites that offer training on Internet marketing. Some are free and some have a cost attached to them. The important thing is that you take the time to develop a solid foundation in the computer skills you will be using. The good thing is that you can learn as you go. Don’t make the mistake of trying to learn everything before you even start. Why? Because you will never start! It’s impossible to learn everything. Just make the decision to start and learn as you build the business. It is time consuming but you have to take the time. If you don’t the chances of building a successful online business is very remote.
Being in business, online or off, is a serious venture. Be serious about your business and you will see positive results. The Internet is a technology that can allow you to have financial and personal freedom, but it does require you develop the computer skills needed to reach that level of success. Take the time to find the information that will help you develop the computer skills you will need. Don’t be a quitter and become one of the countless who say online businesses don’t work. Network marketing does work for those who work.
Possible Online Business Issues
Starting an online business can be a lot of fun; not to mention profitable. But at the same time, you cannot expect everyday to be a walk in the park. When it comes down to it, there are many potential online business issues that you may have to deal with. While you will have some days that go smooth, there will be others that never seem to end. The way that you deal with these problems will determine if you succeed, or if your business goes under after only a short amount of time.
Anytime that you run an online business, you need to be aware that you are hinging your success largely on technology. For this reason, you should come to grips with the fact that you may run into some technology related glitches along the way. These problems include everything from an internet outage to being booted from the search engines. Remember, there is a solution to any problem that you run into. For many, finding the solution is a problem in its own right.
Believe it or not, running an online business can often times become boring. Not because your business idea lacks spunk, but because you may be working on your own, day in and day out. Most people who run an online business start small. This means that they work from their home, but this also means that there is nobody else around. Will you be able to deal with this? Some people have a difficult time working alone because they are so used to being involved with co-workers and clients on a daily basis.
You should not let the possible downfalls of an online business stop you from getting started. If you do, you may end up regretting this decision in the months to come.
